A prototype implementation of 4G packet gateway Microsoft Catapult FPGA platform

Project Arno team has implemented an accelerated packet gateway for 4G cellular networks using Microsoft Catapult FPGA platform. The implementation uses CUPS split with the data plane implemented on the FPGA. This demo shows the packet gateway processing 57 million packets per second coming from 260,000 concurrently active users.
