From White Board to White Coats
- Michael Brady | Oxford University
This talk has two inter-twined aims. First, it introduces a number of medical challenges, and the ways in which quantitative image analysis is being developed to address them and which underlie my (current) companies. Second, it illustrates my drive to translate mathematics and computing (white board) to clinical practice (white coats). The case studies are breast cancer, liver disease, and the fusion of medical images. We conclude by suggesting a number of directions in which medical image analysis is likely to develop over the next decade.
