If you are using the February 2016 release of the Microsoft Dynamics AX on a demo/build in a virtual environment, your SQL Server Evaluation Edition license has expired. You must select one of the following options:

  • Deploy another Dynamics AX 7.0.0 (February 2016) virtual machine. The new virtual machine (VM), which is Azure only, includes a new SQL Server 2016 Developer edition.
  • Install Dynamics AX (May 2016 update) or a newer release. We recommend that you select this option.

If you are using the May 2016 release of the Microsoft Dynamics AX on demo/build in a virtual environment, your SQL Server Evaluation Edition licenses will expire on November 1, 2016. Before your license expires, we recommend that you do one of the following:

  • Install the Dynamics AX (May 2016 update) build VM that includes the new SQL Server 2016 Developer Edition.
  • Download the new May 2016 virtual hard drive (VHD).

SQL Server 2016 Developer edition comes with a free license that does not expire.
