Hello! I am a Principal Research ML Engineer at Microsoft Research, India, where I work on Multimodal AI in Radiology. My work sits at the intersection of vision-language modeling and clinical practice, building foundation and multimodal models that are not only fluent but clinically faithful, calibrated, and interpretable enough to support real diagnostic decisions.
My research focuses on developing radiology AI systems for chest X-ray and 3D imaging that align model behavior with the way radiologists actually reason. This work comes together in project CARE (Clinically Aligned Radiology Expertise), which encompasses multiple work streams spanning 2D and 3D radiology, developed and validated in collaboration with clinical partners on real-world hospital data.
I am also a speaker and contributor to venues advancing healthcare AI and machine learning in the Indian research community, including IndoML (opens in new tab) and the Microsoft Research India Academic Research Summit.
Prior to joining Microsoft Research, I served in several roles at Microsoft, including as an AI Solution Architect and as part of the Azure AutoML product engineering team, where I helped build enterprise AI systems and machine learning capabilities on Azure.
I hold a PhD in Computer Science from Bharathidasan University, Trichy.
